Executive Committee

Joan is a third-generation Californian and received a degree from San Jose State University in Advertising & English. Formerly an IRS Agent (Office Auditor), owner of a tax preparation service, and Founder & CEO of Technames, Inc. (Alamo, CA). Technames serviced the executive search industry through its database of executives specializing in technology industries. The firm was closed in 2012 due to her retirement after 30 years. Joan with her husband of 47 years raised their two children at North Lake Tahoe. They returned to Northern CA (Alamo) after the children left for college.  After her husband's passing in 2012, she moved to the Rossmoor 55+ community in Walnut Creek, CA. There she was President of the Republican Club, President of the Classic Car Club  and Publicity Manager for the Niners Golf Club.  She relocated to Reno in 2020. Joan has been a lifelong Republican and joined the Mt. Rose Republican Women in 2020. Before accepting the Presidency, she was the Reservations and Membership Orientation Chair.

Born and raised in California, Kris moved to Nevada in 1969. She began her career as an Operator for Nevada Bell. She held various positions in Product Management, Information Technology, Wholesale Operations, Regulatory, community relations, and government affairs in her 45-year career at AT&T.  Kris retired in September of 2023.

She served on numerous non-profit boards throughout her career at AT&T and continues to serve on the AT&T Pioneers National Executive Committee and the TelecomPioneers Board of Directors. Kris has been a poll worker for Washoe County elections for many years.

Kris enjoys traveling, reading, and volunteering with her therapy dog, Fiona. Kris has one son and a two-year old grandson.

I grew up in Waukegan Illinois.  I earned my bachelors of music degree from Western Illinois University and my masters degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.  In 1975 I moved to California where I taught elementary music in the public schools and played English Horn/oboe in the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra and the Modesto Symphony Orchestra.  I have always been registered as a republican and in Modesto, CA I served many years on the County Central Committee as both a member and an alternate.  I also was a member for many years of the Modesto Federated Republican Women.  In December of 2020 my husband, Jim and I moved to Reno, Nevada.  We had to get away from California with its hostile business climate, its far left-wing politics and its confiscatory state income taxes.    We like Reno and I look forward to helping the members of Mt. Rose Republican Women thrive as an organization.  

Joy is a lifelong Republican who ‘escaped’ from California to Reno in 2021.  She has supported Republican causes numerous times, including serving as a Precinct Captain for Ronald Reagan’s Governor and Presidential campaigns.  She has a business and financial background, working with many international and national startups and leading her own consulting business since 1965.  Never stopping, Joy is currently the Chief Financial Officer for The Guided Meditation Framework organization.

Susan moved to Reno in 2018 after living in San Diego for most of her life. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of California where she was chair of the Berkeley College Republicans. She went on from Cal to earn her Master's in Public Policy from the University of Chicago. She has worked in the health care industry for over 20 years in various IT positions.  Prior to taking on the co-Secretary role for the Chapter, she served as the Armed Forces Committee chair, planning the Wreaths Across America participation.

Charlotte was raised primarily in California but spent six formative years in Germany, where she learned German, French, and skiing—and a lot about other countries besides the U.S. Charlotte has been married to Paul Monte, (literally a “rocket scientist”) since 1986. They have three grown children who were homeschooled and are proud grandparents of a first granddaughter. 

Charlotte spent several years in high tech in administrative positions, while actively volunteering for local homeschool groups, advocates, and private learning institutions. Her favorite position was as Executive Assistant at the Benjamin Rush Institute, a non-profit organization devoted to educating medical students about the pitfalls of socialized medicine and other encroachments on medical liberty. She also served for six years on the board of the Liberty Forum of Silicon Valley, a non-profit educational organization that hosts nationally recognized monthly speakers in the Mountain View area.  In 2021, Paul and Charlotte decided that it was time to leave California. Thanks to many wonderful friends and neighbors, they have had had a “soft landing” here!  Charlotte prays that our work to keep fiscal and cultural sanity in Nevada will keep us from going the way of California.
